Every game by this studio aside from Until Dawn and House of Ashes has been mediocre at best.

Buy Fran Bow instead.

I don't know about that but I do find it pretty cheap that they always take a rehashed slasher horror plot, hire a somewhat notable (and affordable) Hollywood name or two on the castlist, throw in the QTEs, and boom there's your video game.

Way to make that hack David Cage's work look Oscar worthy in comparison.

I rarely say a game sucks. But I played this with my niece and we make games that aren't that good fun without talking over it and not giving the game a chance on it's own. Not even our input could make it that fun. It's not even a so bad it can be fun to roast. It's boring bad. It cuts off any route you could use to get entertainment out of it.

My friends and I have been playing through all of the Dark Pictures games together in a group of five over Discord, and it's been pretty fantastic. I imagine playing them alone would be lame, though. The fun is having two people making choices on their own with no spoilers and no prior discussion. Leads to some hilarious pay off sometimes.

Of all the ones to release first, Supermassive went with that one?

To be fair, the Dark Pictures games have got progressively better (though I haven't tried Devil In Me yet), so it makes sense to go with the first - and worst - one, because if they release the better ones nobody is going to then get MoM when it eventually comes out.

I don't think it's a bad game, it's just that the twist saps any sense of purpose from the story. And there can't be a single player who didn't guess the twist early on.

This was unexpected and I'm tempted, the couch co-op sounds like it would make it fun for friends to make some popcorn and have a "movie night"

I wonder if there's any chance of them porting Until Dawn as well, or does Sony actually own that IP?

They're a cut above the Dark Pictures games.

It's weird, because the Dark Pictures follows their formula to the letter, and have the same Devs, but UT/TQ just feel so much more fun right from the start, and I'm not even sure why.

Man of Medan is fine in retrospect. Little Hope is the actual worst one. No stakes whatsoever.

I just want an until dawn PC release

Little Hope was my group's favorite so far. Even though the stakes are low, because of the ending, it was still pretty interesting, and it was significantly scarier than most others.

Devil In Me is the worst, we haven't finished it yet and we're struggling to find the motivation to do so. They tried to do too much with the 'gameplay.' A series like this doesn't need awkward parkour and a barely-functional inventory screen.

Also the story is just a little too silly. The characters are just so, so dumb, and they do dumb things without any choice made by the player.
