The cast was great but the movie was definitely subpar compared to Knives Out.

Felt like the movie never got out of second gear.

I liked parts of it. Didn't hurt that I was already smugly aware of the metaphorical concept of a 'glass onion' going into it. The problem in hindsight is that, if you sent out to make a murder mystery where the killer is actually very, very dumb, and the detective repeatedly points out how dumb the killer (and by extension the plot) is, the viewer won't exactly have a tough time agreeing. I was also let down by the 'secret identical twin' trope. And the cast of characters felt much more like on-the-nose caricatures over those in Knives Out.

Also, seems like people are really obsessed with destroying the Mona Lisa these days.

a lot of the tension in Knives Out comes from not knowing if Benoit Blanc is going to be sympathetic to Marta. that tension can't really exist if people are already familiar with the character, so it has to achieve that in a very different way
