In my childhood and earlier years, I did what most people did every day. I got up, got ready for school, sat around, came home, played games or spent time with friends and went to bed. They were "good old" days, they were just days. They weren't happier or sadder, just different in some ways but in many ways it was the same. I followed a routine. Yeah, I did other things but I do other things now. The air smelled the same, I didn't feel any better or worse. It just was. And is just is.

People say "That's sad" and I reply "Why?" Why do people need to splash adjectives on everything? It's neither happy nor sad. Just "is."
