How do you define "breakup" cause I could "breakup" with my gf officially but still be seeing her exclusively.

no contact allowed

i thought about adding a clause that each party had to sleep with with at least one other person but that would be gross

Dunno. I mean they met at a party that mom threw. Pops saved her from a murderer at said party, and six months later they got hitched.

I proposed to my wife within 10 months of starting to date her.

I'd known her from years ago and she left my life, fuck if either of us were gonna let it happen again.

But then who will take care of the pets while we're working? Like, I do when she's working and she does when I'm working. What'll happen if we break up?

We were apart for about 5 months after getting married. About halfway through our first year of marriage, he deployed for 6 months. I saw him after the first month but not again until the end, which was close to our one-year anniversary. So we didn't have the first-year issues some couples have.

this implies they'll permanently leave the dating market. Else they'll find a new partner, decide to marry, split for 6 months, decide not get back together, and the cycle continues. Unless you don't believe this.

wat, that's exactly what i want to happen. eventually when they do decide to get married it will be because it's something more sustainable

Not convinced this would directly solve or prevent the reasons why divorces are initiated in the first place.

People married young 50 years back (I'd imagine this is the same as not being prepared or knowing their partner + options) and stayed together till death. What factors lead to higher divorce rates that didn't exist back then?
