Just finished Zelda: Majora's Mask, seeing how this thing holds up.

And by finished I mean the game won't let you save and was also prone to crashing. At least it fit the theme of the game.
That's such a shame. Now I'll just have to settle for (Turns to the camera, visibly failing to hide a grin) Viewtiful Joe 1.

Actually on the subject of Mario references, R.O.B.'s in this game and if you hold a shocking pink, he whistles the Mario theme.

When this game came out, the most recent Mega Man games were the RPGs where he's confined to the internet and X6/X7 so I will interpret this as an insult.

With every other boss Joe's excited for a fight. With Bruce, Joe's just groaning and calling him an idiot all while Bruce unwittingly reveals Jadow's plan. Maybe it's just not fun for him if he isn't fighting someone overly confident in themselves. Maybe an evil Viewtiful Joe would be like Ladd Russo.

There was the multi-player fighting viewtiful Joe game. "Red hot rumble"I'm assuming that's what would be referred to as the third game. It was also on gamecube, apparently no one remembers it though. I never could beat Leo in the first game

Yes it's called VIEWTIFUL JOE 3 and Captain Blue said it's real and I trust Captain Blue.

Stage 4 pause. "BAAATHROOM?"

Here's what it is.
I am doing the thing where you don't rotate the sub, you just run straight to the end.
It would be nice to play the entire level but when this level started, Joe leapt into the screen screaming "BRING IT ON!!" then the camera zoomed in on him while he flexed. I have to live up to that and get results fast.

The boss has been reached.
Another Joe.
But if the guy I'm playing as is Joe... Then the guy I'm about to beat up must be...
(Dramatically looks in mirror, voice becomes hoarse)
"N-No...!"

Fun-filled factoid.
In Tatsunoko vs Capcom and I believe Red Hot Rumble, Joe did finally change into that yellow outfit.

I like that Another Joe was Alastor in disguise.
It's like a DMC character trying to pass himself off as a Viewtiful Joe character. He thought his game was the place to be until he saw this game.

You know that bit where they get you to pose after you destroy a boss while Joe says something?
I always try to do a dumb pose after stage 4 because Joe's underwater and instead of saying a line he just makes gargling noises.

Two good ways of accomplishing this are either to rapidly mash X and Y so the pose is the beginning of an air attack animation or just to double jump and have him end up upside down while facing the wrong way.

Look Blue I told you - And you told me! - there's THREE of these games.

Stage 5 is also where the really fun enemies that I bet a lot of first timers absolutely love start showing up.

Cromarties and their 1212 1121 2121 2212 attack patterns. It is quite a striking leap in enemy attack pattern complexity compared to dodge once -> slow -> hit them back, to be fair.

The runaway train section in stage 5 is probably the best level in the game.

Stage 6, The Magnificent 5.
4 Raging Stones and Fire Leo.
From what I've seen over the years, when people quit this game, this is usually where it happens.
This is a new save file and I'm only on Adults difficulty though, so this is gonna be free.

Every time I wanna buy Air Joe there's always something else I want more that makes me hold off and keep saving points.

Not gonna lie. I gave up on the final boss of Viewtiful Joe 2. It was the greatest shame of my teenage years.

Now Fire Leo's a pretty strong guy with a really great boss fight but unfortunately for him I am playing as literal Viewtiful Joe.

RHOH Charles = he explodes into bats
RHOH Hulk too much = Axe breaks and he starts running away, setting the room on fire and launching missiles
RHOH Bruce = Sub par damage while he's in the water, doesn't protect you from the thing where he chases you around.
RHOH Another Joe = You get 5 hits, he counters with the spin kick, then he teleports.
RHOH Alastor = You get a few hits then he Psycho Crushers up into the sky and tries to fight from a distance.

I think that's different enough.

Even on Adults difficulty fight it feels hectic toward the end.
What an actual god tier boss fight.

The DS game isn't half bad for what it is imo.

I love the little "WHADDYA GOT?" Six Majin does at the start of the King Blue fight before the music kicks in.

King Blue and Captain Blue are no more. The screen that counts all your rankings told me that I am viewtiful at least 10 times.
