When they made that tv show I assumed they had moved on with the franchise. But I was wrong. Denzel is back for a 3rd movie. I've never seen the old 80s show. The modern show is ok. But I prefer the movies

The second movie was poopoo while the first movie at least had some decent fight chereography, especially the first one when he takes out the mafia in that room. Not looking forward to it, unless it gets good word of mouth.

This is the one that reunited him with Dakota fanning right

I enjoyed both, though the ending stuff and Pedro Pascal's character in the 2nd were kinda weak.

Will definitely check this one.

I just checked the cast for both movies. Didn't see her. You might be thinking Chloe Grace Moretz. She is in the first one

I guess the old guy from the old show has been dead for a bit.

I saw Equalizer 1 in theater but for one reason or another the show started late and I had to skip out on the last 5 or 10 minutes to catch my bus. Was annoying but the film was boring enough that I never cared to look up the end or see the sequels.

I think it came out around the same time as John Wick, which is unfortunate.

I saw them in reruns in the 90s - from the other thread, the show left an impact on me because of the disconnect - Robert would help each client but there was often an unspoken "this is the most I can do.. you and the system have to change" element in each episode. The newer series with Queen Latifah kind of does this...
