"zero notice" lol as if any BBBY was blindsided by this

and since when do bankrupt companies give severance

After all the "if companies cant afford to pay their employees more then they shouldnt exist" this is what happens when companies stop existing - people lose their jobs

Not true. It sank because they couldnt keep the balance sheet in the black. People point to their reluctance to get into the online market. They essentially became the demo store for things people would buy on Amazon.
and yet the shareholders all walked out with more money do to the stock buy backs they did

This is true. I vividly recall going to my local BB&B to look at a certain baking sheet, and then went on Amazon and ordered the exact one, using the bar code, while still in the store.

Saved myself $10.

Yes. That's how capitalism works. Even with the smallest of businesses, the money always goes to the top. Whether it's Amazon, or some housewife selling cakepops out of her kitchen, the overwhelming majority of the money ends up with the owner(s) of the business.

Not to defend them, at all, but just stating facts.

If there was no severance deal in place prior to BB&Bs collapse, and I honestly dont know if there was or wasnt, they didnt screw anyone over.

Its retail. Most of them were just hourly employees. I doubt many of them even had benefits unless they were in management positions.
