I had to give up on every single goal/dream I had due to a lot of objective things. Given how my mental/financial situation isn't going to change, I'm not quite sure what sort of goal to look towards. My existence seems like it'll just consist of working, being alone at home, and working.

I envy people who are ambitious. Can you somehow develop this skill at an old age?

Stop smoking weed
Weed isn't really relevant to my issues. I have no idea how the hell people smoke it during the daytime.

Well then I have no advice to give you, if you don't smoke weed

I dont think being ambitious is a skill. I too envy those people that have worldly ambitions, im not ambitious like that but I do try to be the best version of myself and I think that sort of an ambitious attitude is often understated

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Currently looking for a job while making scraps doing miscellaneous online freelancing. It's been really difficult finding a job that has any kind of benefits, as I desperately need healthcare. Even retail and food service in my area are stingy about giving people 40 hours. No entry-level white collar employers are interested in me because I don't have a degree. I have skills and some relevant experience, and even a certification, but they're all worthless.

I'm about to turn 30 so my dating prospects at this point might as well be grannies lmao. I can't imagine anyone around my age wanting anything to do with me.

Work as a teachers assistant
This sounds like a hard job to get, I think TC lives in Cali too

I almost got a job like this for an autism program but it was on literally the other side of the city limits. I knew someone that worked there which is why I had the chance

I think you ought to try and save up and get some therapy. When you reach a point where you can't seem to dig yourself out of a mental or emotional hole, it's time to get help I think.

I didn't really gain what ambition I have now until I was so fed up with my situation that I treated my next goal as do or die. Kinda extreme but I was so stressed out that I felt I had no other way. Idk maybe conflating desperation with ambition but to a degree I think they go hand and hand.

I have extreme driving anxiety and can't afford a car. I have a license though. I'll never be able to afford to live independently, however. I'm not really expecting to find another relationship at this point so it is what it is. It'd be nice though.

I've tried this in the past when I could afford it. The quality of sliding-scale therapy is so bad in my area that it's not worth it. One of my therapists spent sessions shilling a yoga class she taught, and awkwardly shoehorning hip hop reference she didn't think I'd understand.

You could a cdl. I hear you can make 6 figures with one of those. Do that for a year, and you will have saved up quite bit of money and have some better options in life.

to improve my focus I find punishing myself (like setting alarm to wake up in 3 hours instead of sleeping 8 and waking up naturally) works.

waking up like that also provides me ample time and no distractions to do whatever.
