I mean when you really break the word "generation" down it means the result or consequences of something that happen before and it makes sense that way. You can't have a "generation" that doesn't come from somewhere

Many consider GenX, especially older ones that are now in their mid-50s to be the last of the Fuck You, I got mine generations.

You see it on this board. Im only 45, but I get plenty of OK Boomer pushback from people simply because I successfully live the normal middle class, married, two kids and a house life.

I could definitely see you getting pushback if you talk about how you have a house. Some homeowners definitely have an out of touch outlook on life (not saying you do). I worked with a woman who said things like "I don't think kids should be raised in an apartment. I raised my kids in a beautiful house"

I can see that, but I tend to only just bring it up in a "I struggled to get this, you probably can as well".

I spent most of my mid-20s it a beat-ass one bedroom apartment with my wife (then GF), living on hand me down, mis-matched furniture, fast food, and A LOT of Ramen noodles while we were both living off jobs that barely paid us 30K a year. But we saved and scraped as much as we could, and figured it out.

20 years later, and now most of our furniture matches. lol

GenX were latchkey children. They grew up on their own, with no parents around.

So a lot of the bullshit that normally gets passed down from parents to children... didn't make it to them.

Or if it did, it was the weak-sauce version.

Boomers are the most entitled generation of history. They had everything handed to them, and then complain if younger people ask for some of the same treatment. They got all the benefits and then kept those benefits from anyone after them
