kinda like how RE7 started making people feel confident about the Resident Evil franchise again (and Capcom as an extension), and how Resident Evil 2 Remake solidified that.

then the Monster Hunters and SF6, etc. make Capcom feel like a strong company again.

I'm looking forward to SH2R, but there's a huge pressure over BT to deliver.

if it ends up being good, and the rumored MGS/MGS3 Remake ends up happening, then it'd be cool to see Konami come back.

Bloober sucks

i ain't expecting much from Konami nowadays, i gotta see them deliver first before i get hyped for them again

tbh, I hadn't heard of them until I saw someone do a Layers of Fear playthrough on YouTube.

I wouldn't say it's my kinda game, but it was cool seeing how the game messed with the player by having the environment change on them when they had their back turned.

as far as the SH2R goes, it looks like the game's director is the person behind the Blair Witch video game. the creature designer from the original SH series & Akira Yamaoka are coming back, though, so that's cool.

Not going to be much of a "renaissance" if they Bloob it up.

They're known for making bad games. I haven't played any of their stuff personally

Their resume is a bunch of walking simulators with scores ranging from like 68 to 72

Silent Hill 2 is the best horror game ever made IMO

And I have a sinking feeling Bloober team are not going to understand why and just try to make it cooler like the Resident Evil remakes have done.

The main character of most of their games have a mental illness and they treat them badly for it

the fact they have some of the SH team involved, and that BT & TS have different parts they're working on, I don't feel all the way pessimistic about the project.

even with non-Kojima directed Metal Gear games, like Twin Snakes and Rising, he was still involved to some extent, iirc.

idk if he, Konami, or both would be willing to work together on anymore projects.

Have any of their games before even had actual combat?

Wiki is saying they worked on games called "Basement Crawl" and "Brawl", which fall under action, but the former received very poor scores but I haven't seen anything for the latter.

No, not even The Medium and that's not to say survival horror can't be done without combat but there wasn't any real engagement or suspense or danger either. Just a fixed camera, dark walking game.
