Getting a place is expensive enough with two salaries, on your own is pretty tough, specially when you have to pay for your kid as well. How do people do it these days? Im talking about middle of the road salaries of 50k or so. Lets say you pay 600-1k for your kid. You gotta live with whats left and the hardest part is rent. Youre pretty much back to being poor.
