Cuz playing a game 6 times is crazy. I thought Tales of Symphonia having its plat locked behind 5 playthroughs was crazy. This has 6! (though it's probably a way shorter game than Symphonia at least).

I was under the impression that's what the achievement list was for. To give you incentive to keep playing over and over by giving you virtual medals instead of unlockables.

BN4 was always like that. It makes it a little bit easier that the story is a fair bit shorter than the other games.

But yeah, the BN4 games are considered the worst in the series for a reason.

Yeah 6 playthroughs of BN4 is actually not as long as you might think

Also the extra dungeon afterwards is probably the best in the series. Also helps that the chip pool is also the best

In the original GBA, couldn't you screw up your save by linking with the other version, making it take even longer to get all the souls?

You can use the buster max mode to blow through the game and still get the achievement.

If I remember right it took a minimum of 3 palythroughs and you'd be on your 4th for Symphonia? Not that it's much better. 9 party members, for things like the bathing suits the event gives you Lloyd's and 2 others each cycle so that's 1 guaranteed and 8 other party members at 2 each so 4 total. :l

Technically it's 4.9 because you only need to get to the snow city in the 5th playthrough, but that's like 95% in the game so it might as well be 5 >_> But it's all because you need to have scenes with Colette to get her item, Genis to get costumes for him and Raine, Regal to get costumes for him and Presea, Zelos to get costumes for him and Sheena, and Kratos to get all his stuff.

Of course if you save that last one for your final playthrough, then you actually have to complete 5 playthroughs

seems comparable; 1 is extra short and 7 is extra long

I actually used to do 24 hours to beat challenges specifically with the BN series and Pokemon at the time. They're all beatable on the first playthrough in 24 hours. I can see 5 being the longest for sure. Depends on how fast you adapt to the SRPG part of it

Yeah, that was always annoying. I did it as a kid, but I'm not sure I have the time and patience to do it for both versions now.

As a Mega Man fan, I really wanted to like battle network, but I just couldnt go on after 3. Such a great concept and gameplay, and its drowned in a world I dont want to spend a second in.

I've always felt like plans where you have to play the game more than once or twice legitimately were kinda a waste of time.

But I don't care much for trophies

Only 4 legitimately has different stuff on multiple playthroughs. The rest, I don't really see the point. Several of them have exclusive versions, but imo you kinda get the full experience if you choose the one you like the design of the best. 4 doesn't need different versions, as the brackets basically give you a different story every time.

It's the ultimate filler arc of the series tbh. But filler arc happens to have the best post-game dungeon in the series and the best chip pool and the best mechanic in dark chips, which sickeningly reduces your max hp by 1 every battle you use them
