No, it makes you a reasonable person. Personally I think motorcycle riders should be required to wear a helmet, but if some goober wants to risk splattering his brains all over the road that's his choice.

That's kinda the stance I've always had.

Should women use it as a form of birth control or as a "fall back" for not taking proper precautions? No.

Should it be an option in the case of rape, incest, or if it is causing health risks to the potential mother? Of course.

I'm the same. I don't like it but I'd rather my niece's and younger cousins have access to it so they don't try some risky at home method and seriously hurt or kill themselves.

I don't know that anyone "likes" abortions, and there's probably some conversations to be had.

But those conversations only need to be between a woman and her doctor.

It means youre able to transcend any personal squeamishness and support the reproductive rights of women. Thats not being an asshole, thats being a decent human being. Not as many of those around as youd hope.

Nah you're good. Pro-choice doesn't mean you can't be personally against abortion. It just means you respect others' freedom to choose.

Unfortunately, the GOP has just reframed the narrative so that pro-choice means you want to "kill babies"

While I'm sure there are some folks out there that like abortions, it's probably fair to say that for most pro-choice people, an abortion is a necessity. It isn't something they enjoy getting. It's a difficult decision they have to make because they aren't physically, mentally, emotionally, economically or logistically ready to have a kid.

The idea that people are just yoloing through their sexual encounters because abortion exist as a fallback is pretty disingenuous. Abortions are expensive and emotionally and physically taxing. It's not a birth control substitute and the population that treats them as such is statistically insignificant.

The whole point is that they should have the choice to even in situations you disagree with.

No, we need more people like that in this country. It's fine if you don't like abortion and don't ever want to use it, but it shouldn't be restricted from people that need the procedure.

What makes it even more disingenuous is that the people insisting people are just out here getting yolo abortions instead of practicing safe sex are the same people who want to cut all Sex Ed out of schools

Personally I don't trust anyone who isn't deep-down at least slightly conflicted on the issue. A unborn child deserves the right to be born. A woman deserves the right to body autonomy. These are two rights that are forever at odds, and barring some future miracle of medical technology, the will remain just as irreconcilable and controversial fifty years from now as they were fifty years ago.

However, pro-choice means exactly that: you support the right to choose. My personal opinions on the act of abortion are conflicted, yet I fully recognize and support the fact that I do not and should not have a say in the matter, especially from a legal standpoint. That decision is between a woman, her god, her physician, and maybe her significant other. It most certainly does not involve some backwater lawmaker who wouldn't know a fallopian tube from a garden hose.
