Meh, the new guys aren't that bad and the old trio are not that entertaining on The Grand Tour.

I miss the original Top Gear with Tiff, but of course the Clarkson reboot was entertaining (as was Grand Tour).

TGT got better when they eliminated the American because he *checks notes* was instantly disliked by virtually every single Top Gear viewer on Planet Earth (not the BBC show) and he fucking sucked balls.

The Grand Tour is good and most episodes are worth the watch, but it doesn't quiet have the same magic as Top Gear did. Also the guys are clearly showing their age too.

Many nationalities watched it, it was the most popular show on the planet.

They had the best chemistry out of any hosts ever on tv imo. I'd have to go rewatch the first season to see how Dowe was, honestly don't even remember it.

Clarkson for better or worse was the heartbeat of the show. I mean he was even on the original run for 10 years.

I loved that series of Top Gear, I still watch episodes now and then.

TBH I also liked the American Top Gear US or whatever it was called. No idea why it was binned off, but hey.

The YouTube days now mean there are loads of people doing similar stuff, personally I like watching CarThrottle/AutoAlex and OVERDRIVE for proper British content, and CarTrek to watch USA stuff.

Doubt Clarkson is cancelled. He was pulling out his farming show until pretty recently, and it was a pretty decent success.

Top Gear was hosted by Matt LeBlanc and some other dude when the original trio left, but the other dude got cancelled for acting like a complete ass, and Matt LeBlanc was like I'm not working with a guy who can act that unprofessionally. I guess LeBlanc himself left the show in 2019.

The trio have all been in their respective personal shows on top of TGT. But I think they're getting too old to do the really wild stuff, except Hammond who probably still has the capacity but isn't that great of a solo-show guy imo

Too bad the presenters can't stop crashing. The new season is over because one of the new presenters is badly hurt after a crash. TGT won't let Hammond drive because he's been in two crashes. Even James May got into a crash in their scandi flick.

Only got into the show a few years ago, but I love it. My favorite episode, outside of the specials might be where they go caravanning.

I've seen a few episodes of TGT, and it's fine, but not Top Gear. Something is missing I can't put my finger on. Plus the more set up moments seem a lot more obviously fake and that takes a bit away from it. TG was better with that sort of thing for the most part.

I miss old G4.

That's an issue. I really like Jeremy Clarkson the TV host/presenter. He's a lovable, ignorant oaf. In real life he's a contemptible ignorant oaf for the most part. I was shocked he had a relatively halfway progressive take (for him) in a recent article where he talks about trans issues, though of course there's still some ignorance there. Maybe he's very slowly learning? I'm sure he will make up for it by saying 10 stupid things after it.

And besides, James May >.
