People desperately trying to justify being cowards. I've had knives pulled on me and I've seen a buddy get stabbed. Know what I didn't do? Leave him bleeding on the ground while I ran like a coward.

It being a friend, where you may actually have some knowledge of the situation, is 100% a different story than a random stranger running up to your car and showing you an open wound.

Let me guess. When you see a fender bender on the side of the road you pull over to make sure everythings OK before you continue on your way.

It would be irresponsible to do that instead of calling 911. You cannot simultaneously drive to a hospital and apply pressure to his wounds. You are going to let him die in your car seat.

Basically this Anyone trying to give him a ride would be actively killing him Let and ambulance who can help and possibly stablalize him pick him up. They can legally go fast enough to hopefully reach the hospital in time is a more safe manner than the average driver... So, people absolutely should not drive him there if you can get the ambulance fast enough

Man that's terrifying. Needing help but not being able to convince anyone before it's too late. I'd call an ambulance but that's all I could do.

So can I assume the people ITT saying that if a stranger ran up to their car at 3AM screaming for help that they would open the door; would also open the door to their house if a stranger was at their door screaming for help? At least yes if it looked like they were bleeding?

opening your car door to a random bloody screaming stranger at 3am is a pretty risky move. Id call 911 but thats about it

Youre supposed to let them in and then speed off to the hospital, go past the speed limit and run any red lights along the way.

If you hit a pedestrian don't worry, another good samaritan will let them into their car and speed off to the hospital.

That sucks. He moves his family to Miami due to the condition of San Francisco. Only to return to visit friends and is murdered, that is awful.

Everyone always says this shit but nobody really knows how they'll react in a crisis. It's easy enough to speculate whn you're comfortably browsing on CE, but it's another when almost 3am and you're out in the dark on the cold streets sitting in your car doing who knows what and suddenly some dude pops up out of nowhere covered in blood and starts pleading at you.

I've been in a crisis like this. So I know exactly how I'd act un this situation. I would help. Not just stand by while someone dies.

Willingness to help probably correlates to the general safety/sanity of the area. There are some areas where the average person could see shit like this happen multiple times per day, so I wouldnt be overly surprised if people were scared or desensitized to crazy nonsense that may or may not be actually real.

My aunt was stabbed and she came to my door. I didn't live far from her at the time. I still took her to the hospital. Even if she wasn't my aunt I'd still have done the same. I'd have loved if someone did that for me after I was raped.

I know its fucked up but at 230 am i aint helping either. Thats how you get robbed.

I was leaving Downtown San Diego once and this dude approached me and my friend at the stop light. Limped over to our car and said he got shot in the foot and he needs a ride to a hospital. We cracked the window and told him we'd call 911. He said no and kept "limping" closer.

Since he said no we drove off and looking back he started walking fine.
