I noticed my job has a couple of inoperable coffee machines in the building. I realized I havent seen one used in years. When did it stop being popular?

The standard has largely shifted from either free coffee or no coffee for employees.

Those machines require maintenance, stocking and contractors. It's just cheaper to have a drip brew machine or a pod machine to provide free coffee.

You either go to a specialty store to get a bunch of sugary shit put in it or you brew at home.

I know I used one at the hospital during overnight stays, but it's been easily a decade since then. Only place I remember seeing them was the hospital.

Didn't the coffee in those things taste like shit?

Yeah, I recall one in the campus where I took my CPA exam review classes over 10 years ago, but thats about the last of em.

I loved those things and was also wondering a couple weeks ago why they all seemed to disappear.

Yeah the hospital and school were the last places I saw them in use. My brother brought it to my attention today at work.

The ones that dispense coffee and soup out of the same nozzle are disgusting
