Can't they ask for the same amount of payment that workers of the same education are getting? It doesn't make sense to say okay to a 50% salary cut, when it's obvious that the worker next to you is getting a 100k salary in tech? Or is there some type of law in place where workers outside of the US have a cap in their salary?

For example, if I was a computer engineer in India and I got outsourced by an American company; why is it that I receive a lower salary in comparison to someone in the US with the same education as me?

So in that sense, even if I'm a non-US citizen, will the rules of capitalism still apply to me; where I can request my own salary?

I'm sure you can try, but you'll likely only get the pittance they'll be willing to give you.

The company wants to cut costs. If they had to pay offshore as much as they do US then there would be no offshoring. Jobs would stay in the US.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

By that logic, if companies were to outsource employees, they would go for countries with a lower cost of living like India vs England? Is there ever an opportunity where a US company would hire someone from Japan vs looking for someone in the US; or is this more unlikely to happen?
