If we confine our understanding of God to, say, the Bible - then there is a conflict. But if we open our faith in there actually being an intelligent, omniscient presence that created our universe - there is nothing conflicting with the idea that evolution came as a result of the creation. Evangelists want to claim their version of God is almighty and perfect, but limit His potential to the words of the bible. It's a contradiction to everything that has been understood since it was written.
