It hasn't even been released in Japan Most of the developers that were working on Dragon Quest 3 remake and Dragon Quest 12 were transferred to other departments within Square Enix. Some of them quit Square Enix all together. Dragon Quest creator Yuri Hojii announced that he is hiring an entire new staff to work on the Dragon Quest games The leadership at Square Enix didn't prioritize the Dragon Quest console games. The leadership wanted to focus on mobile games, the Dragon Quest anime, Final Fantasy 7 remakes, Final Fantasy 14, and Final Fantasy 16. And the game Forspoken, which bombed ... Copied to Clipboard!

That Dragon Warrior 4 remake for the PSX in North America was stealth cancelled. It even was printed on the back of the manual of Dragon Warrior 7 as coming in 2002. That also was a very different time too. I figure it's just in some sort of Limbo at the moment. I doubt they'd cancel it altogether as picking 3 for a remake like that is a great idea since 5 has been done enough already. And if something happened to that 3 remake, oh the world will let Square Enix know. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off. But I'm willing to bet on BoJack Horseman. Is there anything really keeping Horii from just leaving Squeenix and taking Dragonquest with him? Armor Project holds most of the relevant rights, and Akira Toriyama probably isn't too loyal to Squeenix either. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Since I have a SNES, I've thought about ordering a copy of a fan translated DW3 cart. Apparently the Japan only re-release for the SNES was really well done. I played through 1 and 2 last year and I would love to take on 3. I've only played through the first few hours of the game on an emulator. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Enix was the one who did Square a favor by merging with them. Ya'll remember the short lived Square EA merger? Japanese companies though while competitive still generally like to help each other so it would be really drastic I think if Horii just pulled out especially at this time and age. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off.
