Sometimes late at night the cats will get overactive and kinda scatter towards the back of the house near the back door.

And there's footprints in the snow going back to the shed even after recent heavy snowfalls

Doesn't help that I sometimes hear snow crunching outside at night. Though I can't tell if it's coming from the backyard or the sidewalk outside.

Sent the property owner a thing about this asking if he knows whats up but yeah >_>

He got back to me and said that it's probably a homeless person who can't get into the shelter several blocks away.

Apparently it's a thing that's happened in the neighborhood before, since we're close to downtown, especially with how cold it gets here in the winter. I guess the guy just pops back and crashes in there to keep warm.

Property owner said he probably won't try to get into the house but to slap a lock on the shed if it bothers me.

I don't like that he said "probably won't try"

If you only have a shed-hopper who's looking to camp out for a night, they sometimes move on without issue. Making your property less inviting and harder to hop around can discourage their return. Elderly folk and single women living alone have been taking these steps for years.

If there was a service for him to utilize , he would probably not be in the shed. I think it's kind of a profound commentary on people who say we should 'help the homeless' until a person in need is literally in their back yard. Then they paddle lock the shed.

You still may want to check and hopefully not notice strange smells coming from your shed.

Not joking guy could have died in there before you locked it, or could be deaf, or just didnt want to be found and stayed quite.
