You don't really learn much by parroting back information. And from my experience, in the cases where that would help (math), the subject isn't taught very well anyway. Plus, the whole system is designed to put you in debt. And for what? To get a degree that doesn't even remotely guarantee a job in your field? For learning purposes, the internet is chock full of information all over, and it's faster and easier than going to school. And it's free.

Thankfully no one cares what you feel.

Yeah that's true I guess. I never actually went to public school myself, and I do college online.

That being said, I'm not trying to be cool or hip.

Yeah, the process of learning and socialization is necessary, but American schools are largely dogshit.

So you felt the need to come and offer your judgement on something that almost everybody else has experience of, while you have none?

But he can't go to school because he doesn't have a car. And he can't get a car because he can't get a job.

I have a cousin who stopped going to school at around 6th grade. Needless to say, if you do this and actually have a regular life or your parents are loaded and homeschooling is literally just better, even then there are caveats, then you're incredibly lucky. If you don't go to school, you basically learn 0 social skills, 0 ability to even learn in the first place, 0 ability to collaborate, 0 diploma to be a base line proof of your skills.

Schools have not been about the actual learning. There are so many other reasons you go to school, and yeah it doesn't work out for everybody. But you have like several hundred times more chance of failing to live a regular life by not going to a school. It's more about efficiency and the required social capitulation.
