Do you predominantly listen to music from your HS/College years?

I've noticed a lot of my old friends from high school and college tend to stick with music they know from those years. Many of them stopped trying new music beyond a certain point. They just spin the same old tunes, which is fine by me. I'm just curious as to if you're in this boat or not? For reference I am 37.

Edit: HS = High School if anyone is confused.

Most of what I listen to is from after my HS days and what would have been "my college years"

Few exceptions here and there, but overall no

No, provided I can find good new music.
But yes, I detest people who only listen to music from their youth.
FFS, These songs that have been played 100,000 times need to take a rest.

Really there is no excuse for stopping the exploration of new music after your adolescence

It's so easy to have access to millions of new artists. You will find something that does it for you as well if not moreso than your rose tinted nostalgia

Same. My spotify top plays were Baby Beluga and The Wheels on the Bus. I've always had a Baby Beluga soft spot.

Wait until you've heard the same Van Hallen song for the 15 millionth time.

No. There's too much good music coming out every year to just listen to things from the 2000's.

The 2000's were the worst.

I listened to a classic rock station for 15 years, so I guess it's no big deal to me. But I can see how that would be annoying. I had a college roommate that would listen to the same CD all the time. Even though it was a good CD, c'mon dude.

Ya, some of those songs are good.n
But being played out is a thing.
Particularly when you are entering your fourth decade of hanging on to the same few songs..

Yeah I'm very stuck in the past with my music tastes, I know little to nothing about modern music or pop stars. I can probably count on one hand bands I started listening to after the year 2000.

No... The opposite for me... I don't listen to anything I used to listen to in HS anymore... Everything I listen to now is stuff I've found in the last 5 years or so...

What if something from a time you were learning put out new material?

I listened to almost nothing but classic rock when I was in high school. Most of what I listen to now is early synth pop, house, and acid jazz, but I still listen to a lot of classic rock too.

Chances are I probably wouldn't even know they had new stuff since I don't look them up and they wouldn't come across my Spotify stuff...

Unless a friend tells me or they're music gets into a game or something, qi'll never know about it...

Yeah. I pretty much peaked in high school and I still like much of the same stuff that I did back then. Of course, my music taste is weird, I preferred listening to movie scores / soundtracks over normal music.

I listen to a lot of music besides what I listened to in high school now though lol.
