I was at a convenience store and I looked at some fruit punch and it has 75 fucking grams of sugar! What the fuck, that's like double what you're supposed to have a day in 1 single bottle. No wonder everyone thinks America is full of disgusting boogie2988 fat FUCKS >_>

Plus there's chocolate milk, those naked fruit drinks, soda obviously, energy drinks, they're all just loaded with at least a single day's worth of sugar alone

Its crazy. I only ever have sugar free softdrink/soda now. They taste just as good these days

i looked at a Hershey bar and it only has like 24g. Imagine drinking almost 3 Hershey bars in a drink

A typical sugar cube is 4 grams. That chocolate bar "only" has 6 sugar cubes worth, or about 6 tea spoons worth of sugar.

It's crazy to look at something like a can of coke, see how much sugar it has in it, and then realize that some kids drinks like Yoohoo have like... twice the sugar content. Same thing with processed juices: a glass of pulp free OJ is practically as bad for you as a soda but we treat them completely differently.

The soy milk offered by the government has 14g in 8 ounces <_<

13g in the chocolate flavored one.

Honestly though I think it's mostly because Americans have been indoctrinated to assoiacte sweet with good tasting so anything that isn't sweet would never be received well.

I hear ya, finding drinks without sugar or without garbage sweeteners is brutal. You pretty much get water or tea and coffee with nothing added.

Please suggest drinks that are good that dont have tons of sugar or sweetener!

I like to buy bottles of Simply Lemonade or Limeade but will mix it with my glass 1/2 to 2/3 full of water and drink it diluted. So, not quite so much sugar at once.

Same idea when I make a pitcher of Gatorade using the powder mix. I only add a little more than half the amount specified in the directions, and then its diluted even more with ice later.

Not sure but I hate that milk has sugar in it. Anyway I probably already have diabetes I need to do a blood test.

Dude, youre so right. I *always* check the sugar content of anything before buying it. Every four or five grams of sugar is a sugar cube, so thats how I picture it.

I actually do think that market analysts are finally realizing that we dont want everything to be packed with sugar. There are more sugar free options in terms of energy drinks and sports drinks. I think the sugar free sports drinks taste better

The only drinks that I take... which contain sugar are my espressos.

One packet of sugar per espresso. And I have between 2-4 espressos a day.

The stuff you buy in jugs, bottles, cans etc. (like Arizona, or Brisk, or Lipton) usually does.

Hot tea you brew using teabags (or loose leaves if you want to be bourgeois about your tea) and hot water is what people are referring to as tea without sugar.

Because corn is subsidized by the US government. Meaning high fructose corn syrup is dirt cheap. Which raises corporate profits.

It depends on where you live. In the south, sweet tea is standard... and you'll have to make an effort to get unsweetened tea.

But everywhere else, unsweetened tea is standard and you can add as many sugar packets to it as you'd like.

But I brew my own. Drink like a liter of various tea a day. Love them.

Go pick up a jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce at the store and look at the sugar content.
