All human individualswhether they have an XX, an XY, or an atypical sex chromosome combinationbegin development from the same starting point. During early development the gonads of the fetus remain undifferentiated; that is, all fetal genitalia are the same and are phenotypically female. After approximately 6 to 7 weeks of gestation, however, the expression of a gene on the Y chromosome induces changes that result in the development of the testes. Thus, this gene is singularly important in inducing testis development. The production of testosterone at about 9 weeks of gestation results in the development of the reproductive tract and the masculinization (the normal development of male sex characteristics) of the brain and genitalia.

How? If we're all phenotypically female when life begins, and some of us become male, that means men transitioned from female to male. Does it not?

The types who go "life begins at conception" are the types who ignore any sort of science when convenient. They probably don't believe any of that and believe men have nipples because god wanted them to.

In ancient Rome, babies werent considered fully human upon birth (thus life didn't begin). Instead, they gained humanity over time, first with their naming a few days after birth, and later when they could eat solid food (about 6 months). So in Rome it wasn't believed that life began until 6 months after the baby was born.

That's why infanticide was so common in Rome (Exposure if they were lucky*, where an infant was just left somewhere to die, but was sometimes picked up**), well, prior to Christianity.
Christians adopted a lot of these exposed children, as they believed and still do that life begins at conception.

*Lucky, because otherwise they would just be suffocated to death then casually thrown into the sewer (as a nearly 100 were near a Roman Brothel), without the remote chance of being picked up [https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna42911813]
**To either become a slave, as a playmate for a parent's children, or sometimes because a couple weren't able to conceive.

that's why there's some people out there that look like women but they are actually men because when the body was supposed to start developing as a man something bugged out and they never actually developed as man
