There could have been intelligent life on Mars millions or billions of years ago. We need to explore Mars. There must be secrets there.
There is also a theory that life was on Mars first. Before Earth had life. One version of the idea says some biological material rode to earth when something smashed into Mars and sent rocks into space. It would be very basic microscopic life that could hibernate in space and thaw out when it crashes on Earths surface

If that was true, it would mean all life on earth is actually Martian

What explanatory value is there in saying that rather than life starting on one planet it started on another planet and hitched a space debrie ride to a second planet?

Nothing. Its just a thing to wonder about. I think you are thinking I obsess over this. I don't. It's just a fun idea. It would be cool if it was true and maybe that's the only reason I think about it

What? Do you realize what it means for planetary science, and evolutionary science?

Fortunately Planetary scientists, aren't quite as close-minded and non-accepting as Archeologists are, and thus Pansperimia is a hypothesis, and not considered a "Fringe-idea believed by white supremacists", which a lot of Archeologists seem to paint anyone who disagrees with the mainstream narrative as (Hell, we even had such disgraceful behavior displayed in this topic).
It seems a lot of the mainstream archeologists can only deal with dissent by screaming "RACIST!!!" as loud as they can because they clearly lack the mental fortitude to actually engage in scholarly debate:

I understand that I didn't explicitly state that and that's my bad, but my issue was the silly idea that rather than life starting on earth. it just happened to start a planet over and come here by space.

The concept itself that life can be carried through space is not something that I have issue with.

Though on the personal level I doubt that happened.

It could have started on both planets and jumped from Mars to Earth.

I actually remember reading somewhere about a theory that octopuses were extraterrestial in origin. (basically panspermia, but for a single species/family)

Idk if it was an actual credible thing though or just some rando scientist shooting shit at the water cooler lol

That one isn't really fringe. All the others in this thread are.

Why are people so okay with opening and raiding tombs and stuff but not ok with people digging up graves?

Egyptology really took off around the same time med students were cutting open FRESH corpses for experiments, so I don't think they cared much.

Not necessarily. Before people were allowed to donate their bodies to science, doctors used to have to go grave robbing to learn about anatomy. Even Da Vinci hired some grave robbers so he could study anatomy
