Shazam got low scores and is supposedly tanking at thr box office

Ant man low scores, big drops at cinema

Black adam low scores and low box office, the rock (GOAT wrestler-mediocre actor sad)

Thor 4, weakest thor reviews...solid box office though

Dr strange 2. Very divisive, strong box office results

Then we have the 2 solid ones: black panther 2 and the batman. Both with solid scores, fan reception and box office but less so than black panther 1/nolan batman movies

I think guardians 3 and the flash may need to save the genre

Cant eat cheeseburgers everyday and not get tired of it

Nah. MCU has had one poor box office movie and the box office now needs to account for D+ release so soon. Guardians 3 will do fine

DCEU has always been a pretty poor performer but I also think The Flash will do pretty good too.

Fact of the matter is, Covid changed things and now unless a movie is worth seeing in a cinema people will just wait to watch it at home.

I also think RT has an impact too. If something doesnt get a great RT score then people just will let that sway their opinion on whether theyll watch it

I actually do agree and this is where Im at. I do wonder if the floodgates opened to giving mcu movies low scores because the likes of iron man 2 or captain marvel didnt get battered like these titles did

Theaters need to die out. I just want new movies to be instantly streamable

You wont get any big budget movies, no way thru can be made if theres no box office revenue

Not going to see a Marvel or DC movie until X-Men and F4, will need Dr. Doom and Magneto to get me interested again.

Yep. Times have changed and the same stuff doesnt hit as much. Quantumania wasnt great. But if I had to pick between Ironman 2 or it, it wouldnt even be a discussion

You'll get your wish but they'll all be like $50 ppvs and you'll need a subscription to the service just to buy the ppv.

Things are better the way they are now. Enjoy it while it lasts

Covid #rekt theaters and they aren't coming back. It's that simple.

Well there are popular heroes and less popular ones.

Batman and spiderman and superman will always make money even if movies are shit.

These are all superhero movies. Non superhero comic book movies seem to be going alright. For instance the new Ninja Turtles game for the most part has been received positively

I was all in on the MCU when Iron Man came out way back when, but there just got to the SO MANY movies and shows that it got nearly impossible to keep up.

Good movies will do good. The vast majority of post endgame movies have been mediocre and it didnt help that no overarching story was introduced. The point of watching marvel movies was to see what where they leading up to.

Also the best phase 4 movie Shang Chi was released through the covid recovery.

it's not necessarily that comic book book movies are bad, it's just that the MCU has gotten too formulaic, IMO, and CBM the that try to copy them, like the DCEU stuff, suffer as a result.

waiting years to deal with some big bad and/or some big event isn't that interesting anymore.

I think that, at most, there should be a three or four movie connection kinda thing before they move on to some other storyline.

the Infinity War Saga experiment has proven to be a success, but it doesn't mean that there have to be more drawn out sagas.

that's my view, at least.
