Ive read the hardest bosses are at the beginning at the game, depending on how you look at it

Why? Do I meet her again down the line?

Nioh and its sequel have some wonderful bosses; I would even compare some of them to Dark Souls bosses.

But the weak level design, lack of enemy variety and seemingly PS3 generation graphics ultimately hold it back from being the best.

Still a blast!

Back in the Nioh beta days everyone said Onryoki is piss easy and Hino-enma is hard as balls.

I always had the opposite experience. Hino goes down to a few hits after you learn dodge directions for her hits. Obviously if you get hit by the paralyze you're dead unless you have the cure item ready, which I never did. But they're fairly easy to avoid. Onryoki just does so much damage early on and I found his movement much more unpredictable and requiring weird timings.

I do have like 20 of the anti-paralysis items I'm gonna use next round

Remember to equip any paralysis omamori charms you have in your accessory slots. Pretty sure you're guaranteed to get at least one drop within the level.

Might also have gotten some equipment drop with paralysis resistance.

Also regardless of whatever weapon you're using (kusarigama excepted) I recommend low stance for the quick dodges and hits.
