I just bought a VR2 and don't really play too many racing games but it seems interesting to try it. If I'm not a car nut, is it something I can jump into no trouble? I like some racing games but it doesn't seem to just be racing. Just looks like a car nut's wet dream though.

you can do anything you want to do

but if you start losing and don't care to figure out how to start winning then that's on you

Yeah definitely.

You don't have to go super deep into tuning your cars and if you really want to, there's easy enough stuff to find online. It will teach you all sorts of driving stuff in driving school too. I'd say you can definitely just jump in.

I always thought Gran Turismo was for those people who really really cared about cars. You have to actually get your license and shit. I know in the PS2 game you could unlock a race car lmao but most of the time it was just micromanaging I thought. I preferred games like Ridge Racer.

The great thing about Gran Turismo is its variety of cars. If you can't keep a fast car on the track, simply learn the ropes with a slow car and work up from there.

You need to brake around corners and then feather the acceleration to go as fast as possible whilst staying on the track.

Its good that Gran Turismo actually have driving lessons, they teach you race lines so you can go the fastest through a corner.

But for someone who is not a big car fan, I'd recommend Forza Horizon 5 more. Its more casual and easier to get into.

This is just a dumb story about watching my friends play Gran Turismo on the PS2, but like I couldn't care less about Gran Turismo but for some reason when they unlocked the racing car it was pretty funny. They would just auto pilot it around tracks and it would just win.

I tried to reference some cheats and stuff that one was called Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec. But you could just unlock or cheat in a F1 car. That cracked me up.

Well my interest in the game is because I just got a PSVR2 and Gran Turismo has a VR mode.

I've played racing games, doesn't mean I own a car or know how to drive one in real life but Gran Turismo seems like the type of game that focuses on one's knowledge of vehicles in real life. Which is the point. I thought of Rocksmith which uses real life skill and know-how.

Gran Turismo and Mario Kart are both possibly racing games but they aren't at all like one another.

edit: every gran turismo has been fucking amazing. they are so good you don't even need to upgrade every iteration, but you'll want to. GT5 is still fun as hell tho.

they are the best racing games, hands down.

(need for speed world was THE GOAT, it was FTP but the servers are down. you could spend money to buy other cars and it was totally worth it, lol)

I actually had the DVDs back in the day but lost them. I haven't watched them but planned to. I think I lost them in the move and I was pretty sad about that.

I mean, I'd like to know but I'm glad from other people's responses because it seems I can still learn the ropes in the game.

Appreciate it guys.
