Growing up, my parents were super frugal. Maybe that's not the right word, I'd personally be inclined to call them stingy. They would basically never buy anything unless it was on sale. I didn't realize until somewhere in my teens that we weren't actually poor

I've basically inherited the feeling from them and have an extreme aversion to buying anything that I don't feel like I definitely 100% need in the near future

Not really. I don't buy a lot of random things I don't need, but I do spend money going out regularly drinking/gambling and buying new games/clothes. I do set a monthly budget for myself though for everything not related to bills and never go over.

Yes. I grew up poor and even though I don't struggle in that way anymore those habits are hard to break.

I'm frugal 90% of the time so that I can more-or-less comfortably afford to splurge 10% of the time.

the only thing I'm not frugal on is food as I eat out a lot but kind of needing to slow that down as I've gained a lot of weight this year
