I define "woke" as the past tense of "wake", which is something I regret doing every day.

I was taken aback a year or so ago when my brother-in-law said the new James Bond movie was good but woke. When pushed he couldn't even really articulate what he was talking about. That a woman made fun of him I think?

It was the first time I encountered a comment like that in-person. Pretty sure he got it from Sky News Australia.

The worst thing about the people whining about 'woke' is that their idea of what is happening very rarely actually reflects the final product. No Time to Die being the perfect example. Countless reactionaries acting like James Bond was going to be some washed up idiot replaced by badass women before that movie released.
