I remember one of the first times I played Subnautica, when I first reached a point where the water was so deep that I couldn't see the bottom (or anything for that matter). The PDA told me that lifeform readings in this region are sparse, and this deep sense of dread just overwhelmed me to the point where I had stop playing right then and there.

I continued the next day with no regrets. It's still one of my favorite games to this day.

I have a fear of the deep ocean but was still able to get through and beat Subnautica. It did take some time to summon the courage to go to certain areas, though it becomes far easier to do so once you're able to use certain vehicles.
