Heya, I will be going to the US for the second time (Been to Miami last year for a week during November) and im wondering if it would be better to travel there during June or July, i plan on visiting both New York and Washington DC during a 10-day trip

Would it make any difference to choose any of those 2 months? Considering both are during summer

It's going to be very, very hot and humid in Washington and New York by July.

Bring a hat, battery-powered fan, and a lot of water if you aren't used to the heat.

Also, if you are going to go to DC for the fourth of July, plan on staying in DC. For you'll need to plan 2-3 hours for just getting *OUT* of DC after the fireworks. There's the crowds, too... so you won't be able to really enjoy the museums, as there will be a huge crush of people there with you.

At least, that's what it was like before COVID-19. I don't know how the Smithsonian is handling things nowadays.

Honestly, it's more fun to go to Washington in April, as the weather isn't hot.

Plus, they have a pretty spectacular Japanese cherry blossom festival as well. This year it's between 15-16 April.

Weather wise, you are a little less likely to encounter uncomfortable heat in June. Other than that, I cant think of any reasons it would make any difference.

July tends to be hotter weather than June, but theres nothing going on in June. July 4th might be a fun time to visit. If you really don't care for that I would do the trip in early June. Another thing is families tend to travel mid to late june once school year is out, so going right before the school year is over is usually the best time to travel. And honestly its not even that bad, the buildings will shade you from the sun and the evenings are going to be really nice.
