ya its great. there is a site with it for free online and gibson is an anarchist and approves.

I liked it back in the day, but nowadays most people say that it hasn't aged well. "Why is this book so acclaimed?"

Most people don't like the pacing

I never finished it but I liked what I read. Last thing I remember they had finished talking to space Rastas and there was something about wasps nest in a hotel room

I cant even remember the actual plot lol

Its amazing. Hes got multiple great books.

Hes got a few boring duds but if you stick to stuff before the 21st century you will not he let down. Hes put out some good stuff post 2000 but hes hit or miss. That said I still like even the ones I'm calling boring.

Mona Lisa overdrive and burning chrome are also must reads imo.

snow crash is great but the the 3 sprawl books are better. id read all 4.

diamond age and cryptonomicon are also good, but i cant get into any of N.S.'s other books.

It's got interesting ideas, but I found the writing to be really slow, dry, and just not enjoyable.

i find the writing to be as rich in metaphor as virginia woolf

The Sprawl Trilogy is incredible.

Also the Wachowskis should owe Gibson royalties for all the blatant plagiarism from Neuromancer in The Matrix.

Well yeah, but The Matrix in particular is basically Neuromancer with wire fu. The term the Matrix is even ripped from it! And Zion!

Its a really damn good book.

I was really impressed with the two seasons on Netflix - do the books got beyond that? I thought they did a good job balancing world building and character drive story

I liked it a lot but also it's sort of weird, you really just need to go with the flow on it because so much of the book felt like information overload

I just feel like The Matrix went further than all the others with how much they pulled from it.

ive never watched any of the altered carbon stuff. i read the first 2 books.

not really interested in tv shows. if im watching a tv show its anime.

The Peripheral got renewed for a season 2, which is nice.

Even though it doesn't hold your hand and spoonfeed plotpoints, it piqued my interest. Maybe I should check the library and see what they've got.

The first season of the show is really good. It deviates a bit from the book but in ways that make sense for story being told in a TV format.
