This is really zoomed in from one of the pictures I took. There's a good chance I'm not right and it's some other aircraft... this isn't my area of expertise lol. I'm located not too far from a military base (I'm in SE North Carolina)

Ahh that makes sense. I haven't lived here very long and I'm not used to seeing so many planes in the air.

The US has hundreds of C-130's and only a handful of them are AC-130's. The vast majority are cargo and transport or cargo aircraft.

I actually took a flight in a weird one where we sat on the sides of the plane with huge boxes sitting in the middle between the rows of people sitting which felt a bit unsettling.
