UnfairRepresent posted... Everyone who can vote but chooses not to is ultimately response for every bad thing a politician does That is idiotic to the point of absurdity. George Carlin put it best. I on the other hand, who did not vote, who on fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every reason to complain as loud as I want about the mess that you made that I had nothing to do with." --- Shut your BF28/9 sound hole and listen up. They deserve to be shamed. White supremacy is on the rise and people won't stand in line and give up even a little bit of their time to fight it. If voting in the US were mandatory, Republicans would get 30% of the vote. It's easier to pull a "my vote won't count" or a "they'll suppress my vote" than it is to actually do something. Let Republicans suppress your vote if it comes down to it. If Democracy is a faade, if Republicans can claim a parsley 30% of the vote and still take the White House, then it's best we rip the mask off and do something about it. Under no circumstances can we allow white supremacists to dictate terms to a nation. ... Copied to Clipboard!

[LFAQs-redacted-quote] Not sure about the Bernie Sanders thing, but it's more of a "millenial" and maybe "zoomer" problem than it is a left problem. Age demograph shows that Baby Boomers and Gen X'ers have been fairly consistent while Millenials have shown time again and again are more likely to abstain from voting. The issue is Millenials tend to vote left on politics, which as you saw was the biggest contributing factor to the 2016 election. This is one of the reasons we're given the "lazy" stereotype (even though I'll say it's farther from the truth), but there is no doubt that Millenials and especially Zoomers are more likely to participate in slacktivism than they are actually doing anything to help on a legislative level.... like voting. --- DI MOLTO! ... I won't say voter suppression isn't a thing because it absolutely is. However, between early voting and mail-in voting I personally have not come across someone who legitimately wanted to vote and could not. Jobs and lines make it harder to vote, not impossible. rexcrk posted... While its important to vote, I can understand why people wouldnt want to. It seems like no matter what or who you vote for, it doesnt really matter in the end. On a nationwide federal level I can fully understand, but your vote can have a major impact on a local level. I fully understand if you're not politically active (If you don't know what your voting for, I don't think it's a good idea to vote), unable to vote due to State level voter suppression (my friends in Texas tell me the horror stories), or have some form of disability making it hard to vote. The only time I have a problem of being a non-voter is when I know you personally and they're political active on social media but not only announce you're not voting but encouraging others to not vote as well. Statistics show that the more people who vote, the more likely Democrats will win hence why all the voter suppression is primarily Republicans participating in it. --- DI MOLTO! ...
