I despise fishing minigames but I don't remember thinking this one's timing was that bad.

I consider myself a pretty absurd trigger finger both IRL with stuff like arcade tap games and in video games.

I get it probably 80% of the time in this game, but for ME PERSONALLY the idea that I would ever miss it is insane. I'm really not trying to sound like I'm bragging but this is like...something I'm known for. Me missing a timed single tap is like Daigo missing a Shoryuken input. It just doesn't happen!

I'm sure I'll get it every time eventually, but it was just kind of shocking how tight it is compared to Cold Steel, which I never missed once after 100%ing the fishing guide in all 4 games.

I did have issue's with Sky's though.

yeah I platted both games and didn't have any trouble with the fishing

I also remember it being easier than Sky

Yeah, Zero's fishing is fine. I'd agree that Sky has the hardest out of Sky/Zero/Cold Steel.

I'd speculate that maybe if you're playing PC or Switch that maybe higher FPS breaks the timing or something and makes it way more difficult but... Durante's company did the ports, right? There's like a 0% chance that they wouldn't have patched such an oversight immediately. And I played on PS4 so I know it's okay there - heck it knocks you out of turbo mode for fishing so not even that can mess you up.

No, but by comparison to the rest of the series the timing felt tighter IMO.

I am indeed playing the Switch version (which looks stupendous BTW), which I know is supposedly very different from the PS4 version.

As I guess the only way I can really explain whether something is up, you know how there's the two forms of the (!) above the head, the squished version when it first hooks and the fully extended version, right? Through save scumming I've cast the reel about 120ish times now, and can say with total confidence that the game is requiring me to tap while the (!) is still in it's squished state. If the exclamation is extended, the catch will fail. It's a little less than a 1/4 second window.
