Have a group of around 20 guys attending my brother's bachelor party. Booking a house and it makes a million times easier if we could split it all evenly but I think some people may only want to stay for 1 night which makes it trickier. Should I just charge everyone the cost for 2 nights no matter what? Or try to figure out the math per person for those staying 1 nights and those staying 2? I just didn't think it was fair for the people staying 2 to raise to cost average if others decide to only stay 1. --- http://i.imgur.com/AbIa7Go.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

lolife67 posted... Just figure out the cost per night and charge accordingly. I mean say its 2000 a night for a house. 4000 total for 2 nights. If there's 20 people...Still charge those 1 night people $100 each? Or make them pay like $150 to offset the higher average the 2 night people would have to spend? Sorry if this is obvious, but I'm terrible with math. --- http://i.imgur.com/AbIa7Go.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

Full cost = ( 1 x everybody because everybody stays one night ) + ( 1 x the ones that stays two nights ) Doesnt seem hard. --- GameFAQs isn't going to be merged in with GameSpot or any other site. We're not going to strip out the soul of the site. -CJayC ... Copied to Clipboard!

That's your scale value that you can multiply by the total cost to figure our how much is owed for each person. --- =E[(x-E[x])(y-E[y])] ... Copied to Clipboard!

No, to get the price of one night it would be total cost divided by total nights. Total nights is is the summation of everyones stay. So if you have 20 people staying two nights, the total nights would be 20 x 2 = 40. Id charge everyone $200 if I were you. Easy math. Maybe it isnt completely fair to people only staying one night, but you are renting a house and thats how renting a house goes. --- Arkansas Razorbacks || Oklahoma City Thunder || Cleveland Sports ... Split it evenly and tell everyone that the party is a 2 night event. If they don't want to stay the 2nd night, it's on them. That would be like someone only wanting to pay $125 on a $150 concert ticket because they're going to get there after the opening act. --- It takes zero effort to be a good person. ... I went through this with my friend's bachelor party a few years ago. You'll be lucky to get everyone to even pay at all. Some people will be taking much higher hits than others, especially when it comes to gathering food and drinks because usually just a few people are involved and need to be reimbursed (which doesn't happen either). The best way to do it is to make it as simple as possible. Charge everyone the same, the difference between $100 and $200 isn't that much in the grand scheme of things. --- Buffalo Bills ...
