Yes you should. The "Ace Attorney Trilogy" is available on many platforms right now.

The gameplay is visual novel based, which is to say that it's mostly going through the story and interacting based on what's going on in the courtroom or investigations of various areas like crime scenes.

The AAT will feel dated when you start it up, because it was originally on GBA way back at the turn of the millennium.

Alternatively, if you feel that it's just too old for you, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is also available. It's the most modern presentation of the format, and exists historically distinct from the "Phoenix Wright" era so you won't be getting spoiled on what happened in the older games.

They're all fun.

Also if you're wondering how people could love this series so much given such simple gameplay, a lot of it is carried in the writing and in the over-the-top characterization and presentation.

Although I'd imagine at this point you must have seen some OBJECTION! memes.

Yes. The DS versions are the best. The HD version looks really weird, is cropped from 4:3 to 16:9, and uses a shitty generic font.

I prefer the GBA sprites but the HD remake is fine, you're not really missing out on anything and the QoL stuff is pretty nice.

It's great overall and worth a play. Even though Apollo justice screwed it over to the point it should have just been retconed out entirely.

The rest of the titles afterwards all felt like damage control to varying degrees after that mess.
