Some countries actually do this.

I asked in the other bidet topic, but how hard is it to import one of those toilets with a built in bidet to the US? Does plumbing need to change at all or do you just order the toilet?

I finally got my own house so now thinking about stuff like this.

Yup, installed it a few years ago and will never go back. I don't know how these things aren't standard in America by now.

You can just buy the bidet attachment on Amazon and install it yourself. It's pretty simple, and depending on the setup of your bathroom shouldn't take you more than an hour.

I just bought 2 of the $40 ones off Amazon. The installation is pretty easy and it comes with everything you need to get it installed. They have heated options for a little more but I didn't think my ass needed that much pampering.

You can, as long as you keep the old toilet seat. That way you can reinstall the old seat when you move out.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but all you need is an electrical outlet near your toilet. For water, it uses the same exact pipe and hookup that's already connected to your existing toilet. So all you need to do is twist the handle near your toilet to shut off the water, install the connector that comes with the bidet, and then plug it in.

This. I got one off Amazon a year ago and now I simply can't go without a bidet.

This is probably unsafe but...I do this too lmao. Give the ol' rectum a good flush lmao. I've always hated that last little piece that doesn't want to come out.

It is do-able, but it is going to cost you quite a bit. The toilets themselves are heavy so the importing is not cheap and the features can run the cost up a lot. Then you get to the actual install and it is going to come down to whether or not you have enough of the needs of the toilet right there or if the plumber is going to have to do significant work.

Probably worth contacting a plumber to see if they have done that kind of work and would be interested in coming out to give you an estimate.

You could easily spend more than 10k just on this though, so don't be afraid to just look into a seat washlet, some of them are even able to work on water pressure alone, so no electrical plugin needed.

You don't even need an outlet. Mine doesn't use electricity. All water pressure, baby.

Lowe's and Home Depot sell Japanese toilets. No need to import one.
