The Weeknd is unbothered by the reports.

The 33-year-old Blinding Lights singer responded to a bombshell Rolling Stone report released on Wednesday (March 1), which detailed the shows endless delays and alleged torture porn vibe upon Sam Levinsons takeover of the series.

In a new post, The Weeknd used footage from the show alongside co-star Lily Rose-Depp.

.@RollingStone did we upset you? he wrote.

The clip featured the pair mocking the publication for being irrelevant.

Rolling Stone, arent they a little irrelevant? The Weeknd says.

I dont know, I think its maybe past its prime, Lily adds, as the two discuss how many more followers Lilys character has than the publication.

The report includes allegations of explicit sex scenes, impossible expectations and chaos due to constant rewrites.

Sam Levinson is a hack so I'm pretty sure this is going to be trash.

I honestly hated Euphoria (only tried two episodes because people kept telling me to watch it).

I will probably skip his new show.

I don't even know what's being discussed.

From what I gather, there's some sort of TV show? And a magazine said it sucks? And the actors are shitting their pants about that?

Yes I'm sure the show that has had constant delays and key people leaving hasn't had behind the scenes issues.

They're in a HBO show that was meant to come out last year and still doesn't have a release date. Rolling Stone wrote an article detailing the issues behind the scenes and places some of the blame on Levinson and Weeknd taking over the original pitch of the show to suit their own tastes and wants.

This response pretty much guarantees that it's garbage. Basically says "we have more followers than you, you're irrelevant." It's not like relevance is the topic at hand here. Also Levinson is known for being a nightmare to work with for crew members. Dude doesn't even use shot lists.

The show will probably be trash, but The Weeknd's right to trash Rolling Stone just like when he told the Grammys to fuck themselves when he did the Super Bowl.

The original pitch was an actresses journey through the seedy underbelly of Hollywood

The first public inkling of trouble came last April, when director Amy Seimetz, of The Girlfriend Experience and She Dies Tomorrow, suddenly exited with roughly 80 percent of the six-episode series finished. HBO addressed the news by confirming The Idol was set to have a major creative overhaul and would be adjusting the cast and crew. There was little explanation for the shakeup, except for reports that Tesfaye, who is co-creator, felt the show was heading too much into a "female perspective."

With Seimetz out of the picture, HBO handed the reins to Levinson, only to have him weaken the show's overarching message, many sources say, by dialing up the disturbing sexual content and nudity to match and even surpass that of his most successful show, Euphoria.

"What I signed up for was a dark satire of fame and the fame model in the 21st century," one production member explains. "The things that we subject our talent and stars to, the forces that put people in the spotlight and how that can be manipulated in the post-Trump world." However, they add, "It went from satire to the thing it was satirizing."

At various points, Levinson's scripts contained disturbing sexual and physically violent scenes between Depp and Tesfaye's characters, three sources familiar with the matter claim. In one draft episode, there allegedly was a scene where Tesfaye bashes in Depp's face, and her character smiles and asks to be beaten more, giving Tesfaye an erection. (This scene was never shot, the source says.) Another proposed scenario was for Depp to carry an egg in her vagina and if she dropped or cracked the egg, Tesfaye's character would refuse to "rape" her which sent Depp's character into a spiral, begging him to "rape" her because she believed he was the key to her success. (This scene also was not filmed because production couldn't find a way to realistically shoot the scene without having Depp physically insert the egg, another source explains.)

"It was like, 'What is this? What am I reading here?'" one of the sources says. "It was like sexual torture porn."
