Check it out if you're at all a fan of (especially) the Nioh games or Sekiro. This game manages to find a middle ground between the two with enormously streamlined (if not rather simplified) combat and much less loot vomit compared to Nioh with the orgasmic feeling of chain parrying and posture-focused gameplay that Sekiro had. The big changeup compared to Sekiro is you have a "Spirit" gauge rather than a posture bar, which can go either positive or negative depending on your momentum in the fight. Hit the enemy a bunch and successfully deflect attacks and you can cash in your momentum for a big hit, spells, martial arts, etc. You can also do all of these things with neutral or even negative spirit, but it pushes you closer and closer to getting posture broken and - in all likelihood - killed. It's a cool risk/reward system!

Nioh 2 is probably going to keep its spot at the peak just because of how absurdly deep its combat is if you're into that sort of thing, but as someone who feels like the Sekiro itch has yet to really be scratched by any other game, I was super happy that this demo was as fun as it was. Just really excited to see Team Ninja consistently putting out legitimately cool action games like this.

For clarity, anyone know if it's the same basic content as the beta a while ago? I'm planning to play it but it isn't that urgent since the full game is releasing soon.

is Wo Long the one based on Journey to the West?
