This topic doesn't by default claim you make six figures. Not making as low as minimum wage doesnt imply one is making 6 figures, calm down. It said minimum wage, which at 30 is a lil odd given what minimum wage is. Just working a few years you should be above that.

So being 30+ making that low of a wage begs some questions.

Probably not. Its not about the money but minimum wage jobs suck. Usually schedules are set week to week, bosses are shitty and if its a service job, shitty customers. All for no money. As someone with a cushy office job, I wouldn't want to see my SO living like that.

Yeah this is pretty much my thinking as well. The ambition is the important part. My ex worked at mcdonalds for 10 years. She complained about it constantly, but she never put in effort when I tried to help her get a better paying job (she convinced herself she would fail and just didn't try). It's fine if you start at minimum wage, but you should have goals to move beyond that.

My current girlfriend is not at minimum wage and she has plans to keep moving up. She's awesome

No, financial security is important to me and I have a standard of lifestyle I enjoy.

How much the person makes is less important than why they are making it and how responsible they are with it.

I don't need my partner to be making a lot of money but I do care if they aren't particularly responsible with their financial life.

If theyre attractive then sure we can date. Weather or not it ends up serious depends on other things such as personality, goals, ambitions, reasons why theyre working that job etc.

I don't care really as long as she's a great person and she has other things to offer me. We can work together and I can do my best to put her in a better situation.

Majority of people don't make big money unless you get really lucky with career connections or you're from a rich/well off family.

I know it isnt the point of the topic but, god, I genuinely feel bad for people who dont know how to entertain themselves without work.
