tomorrow, though, is the day i've been waiting two seasons for. 16 games, for the first time ever.

the top wildcard teams all won yesterday, Washington and Detroit did not, and they're eliminated. Seattle's win gets them in for the first time in the franchise's storied history.

four teams for two spots left in the east. three teams for one spot left in the west. but still several other tight races for teams to move around.

those final races might end up being decided on the very last games of the season, should be interesting

Islanders are missing one of their best players as far as I know, and the Pens have one of the best players of the 21st century who could always go off.

Knowing the NHL the last few years and playoffs, the Leafs will get out of the first round and Boston won't.

It wouldn't even shock me if the Bruins had an early exit. So many giants over the years fell short early. Excited to see what happens regardless. When the Wings had that 62 win regular season, they didn't win the cup that year.

Leafs Lightning play game 0 of their first round matchup at 7, into Oil Avs at 930. both on espn.

Islanders loss leads to a huge game in Pittsburgh tonight against Chicago, and a slightly less huge game for Buffalo in New Jersey. Carolina hosts Detroit to try to stay ahead of the Devils.

Jets can clinch against the Wild, who can get back into a first place tie. Kraken can get out of a wildcard spot against the Knights, who can not quite clinch the division with a win.

Boston tries to push the record, and stay healthy.

Calgary is, in fact, toast.

RIP Flames, what a bad turnout for both them and Florida this season.

I was wearing it a lot earlier actually but then just started wearing a plain grey hoodie all the time because it fit my mood more. I see the Jets still have Hellebuyck, he was a rock in years past.

down to the wire for the penguins. if they get a win an the Islanders get an OT loss the teams are tied in points and wins; the next tiebreaker i think is the goal differential for all of the matches the teams played against each other?

Jackets fucked up by getting a point against PHI, but the Blackhawks fucked up worse by beating the Penguins

First tiebreak is regulation wins. Pens are done. Need all four points to go right. Was a nice run. But this year's team is just aggressively inconsistent.

three games tonight. Dallas St Louis into San Jose Calgary on TNT. Montreal Long Island, of course, is not. Islanders need one point to take the last open playoff spot. Dallas can move back into first in the Central with at least one point.

only 20 games, league wide, left. still only 5 teams locked into their exact seeding.

ugh, i'm considering going out of my way to watch Habs Isles. do I really want to do this to myself?

Oh I didn't notice the regulation part, thought it was just total wins. both teams have easy matchups on their final game, we'll see how it goes

Yea it goes regulation wins, regulation + OT wins( shootout wins not included), if still tied then the team that earned the most points between their regular season meetings.

alright, we won't know the matchups for another day or two, but all sixteen teams are set.

i really don't know who i will be rooting for until i watch the games. only hated rivals on the list are leafs and lanche(historical remnants). don't care much for the bruins or rangers. anyone else on the list could win and it'd be ok by me

The Pens are out of the playoffs! Damn sixteen years straight streak snapped! That was some Detroit Red Wings stuff there. I guess I just never thought of them as making it every year. As they had some surprise early exits but were certainly a very very successful team during that time.

I remember one year the Blue Jackets completely collapsed and allowed the Red Wings to back into the playoffs. Thus keeping their streak going for some more years until they finally bottomed out. This was probably the mid 10's

I think if Kasper stays, Soderblom makes the cut, and they add just one scoring winger in FA they are playoff bound next season.

I think it's time to part ways with Zadina, hes just not working out at all. Berggren had a first year like we thought Zadina was gonna.

Final night for most of the league. Still a few important games left.

Devils need a point against the Capitals to jump ahead of Carolina. Hurricanes can keep the top spot with a win against the Panthers. Panthers can get away from Boston with a win, instead.

Avalanche have control in the Central, but need to play two points better than Dallas in their two games, the first of which is tonight hosting Winnipeg. Stars can make that as hard as possible with their last game hosting the St.Louis.

Knights Kraken is important for both teams. Knights take the Pacific and West with a point. Kraken can get out of the wildcard with a win. If the Kraken manage the win, the Kings play in Anaheim, needing a point to stay ahead, and the Oilers host the Sharks to try to take the Pacific.

Hmm Knights/Kraken is on ESPN, maybe I'll put that one on. How did the Kraken get so good? I know the Knights are essentially the gold (heh) standard for expansion teams, but I remember the Kraken were terrible in their first year.

iirc, they had a couple rough injuries. and Gru definitely underperformed/was let down by the guys infront of him.

I think I pick third overall in my playoff draft. Assuming McDavid goes first, and maybe even Draisitl going second, not sure who I go with.

Boston is a strange team for me. I was liking them when they were getting good and even when they were good, but meh they so damn good now setting regular season win records. They also have caused me some grief with the Flyers in the past playoffs that I did get over after a few years but still...
