I've already got 100+ hours played on Early Access and that only has the very first part of the game. Unless some disaster happens BG 3 is gonna be good.

It's already good based on early access alone. It's going to be incredible.

Apparently they are having issues getting the split screen co-op feature working well on the Series S.

That's good to hear then at least - not being exclusive anyway. Hopefully they can solve whatever issues they are having.

Apparently the Xbox version will take way longer because the Series S is such a steaming pile of shit they can't get it to work correctly on it

Why not just make it series X only?

Because then all the losers that bought the Series S will get pissed off and Microsoft apparently refuses to be wrong about ever creating it

The first two games were also made 20 years ago by a completely different team and 3 DnD editions ago, using the Baldur's Gate name is a shitty nostalgia grab but that's been WotC's MO for about a decade now.

Baldur's Gate was called that because it was set mostly around the city of Baldur's Gate itself. BG2 was far removed from the setting so in a sense it had no business being called that either. BG3 is once again set with the city being a focal point so it makes sense.

tbf, they've made numerous games with the "Baldur's Gate" name. They've just not kept them in the "numbering system" and had a different name after.

Really my only issue, it makes it seem a continuation of the Bhaalspawn saga, despite that being over in the games and official lore with 5th edition. But not anything to put me off really. Do wish they called it "Baldur's Gate: something Illithid related" instead though.

I guess they could change it, but official 5th edition lore has the MC Bhaalspawn and the last other one get forced together and "slayer out" with both being killed and Bhaal being resurrected at long last.

Not that official lore necessarily means a game has to follow it or be official itself. And is other stuff they could do around it I imagine.

My favorite part about this is the ACTUALLY giving up his divinity in ToB didn't actually change anything because Bhaal was living in the corner of his head the whole time and everything the player did in the games was his exact plan so nothing you did actually mattered
I fucking hate 5e lore, there was absolutely no reason to take a steaming shit on the games. Reminds me of how SWTOR and its tie-in novel explicitly went out of its way to shit all over Revan and the Exile from KOTOR.

Still better than 4e lore though.
