Right now, Remote Raid Passes are 100 coins each, and you can do as many Remote Raids as you want, so long as you have the Passes for them. If this is true, not only will the Passes cost more, but you will be severely-limited to how many Remote Raids you can do.

I have no idea what the purpose of this decision is. It's like Niantic is clueless about their own game (which is par the course for them, but still).

This is somehow worse than when they turned the 2x gym/stop distance back to normal

People are already pissed at remote raid pass weekly boxes (1x a week for 1 coin) disappearing, not to mention the stupidity of having 1 pass for 100 coins and a bundle of 3 for 300 coins.

But hey, people will continue to spend and give their data

one of my pasttimes is lurking the pokemon go reddit and reading up on all the niantic bashing, im gonna quit the game, etc. each time something dumb happens, then watching them continue to play

Yeah, that's when I pretty much gave up on raiding. I'll do a raid if there's one at the gym that's right on my building, but I'm not going to go out of my way to do raids anymore.
The game has been getting pretty shit post COVID in general.

i think they need to realize they're never going to have the initial 2016/2017 levels of activity.

the covid stuff (remote raids, extended spin distance, etc.) were ultimately huge boons to the game. attempting to nerf it back to 2016 isn't exactly going to drive activity

What are they even making these changes? The game is hardly competitive, if at all. Please just let people have fun

I know this sucks for the people playing it, but Niantic has been signaling this since before COVID. They want people out, taking pictures, being visible, using the AR. They are an AR company first and foremost, making a profitable game is secondary, let alone a fun one. Are you surprised Diablo Immortal is a giant cash-grab? No. So why are you surprised Niantic wants to cut off its most despised players?
