Throughout my entire 20s (I'm 31 now) I was still unusually tuned-in to what the 14-20 crowd were into due to the social media I followed and the multiplayer games I played.

Now I don't play multiplayer games and hate TikTok so I'm finally falling off. I still dunno who the fuck Addison Rae is >_>

I don't like the trend that of people watching clips of old TV shows accompanied by gameplay footage.

I don't like the trend of people re-uploading someone else's video , but cropped for mobile viewing and there's a split screen of someone reacting and pointing to the video alonside with emoji spamming.

I don't like the trend of people re-uploading old videos, but cropped for mobile.

I'm 38, and I'm not vehemently against the idea of it, but the only reason I don't use it is I don't need another time suck. I do recognize that it's not predominantly zoomers and dance crazes like people generalize it as. The userbase is so massive that I can find large communities of special interest groups for anything I'm into...I just want to do so my own way.

Pop culture is one thing, but I've never paid any attention to internet "trends" or "fads"

Like remember planking? How about the Tide Pod Challenge? It was a hard pass on both, and that's just two examples...

Honestly I hate TikTok for the clout chasing it spawns (I have a friend who has convinced herself she's going to get famous on TikTok), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find some of the videos on it hilarious.

You dont feel old that you still use Gamefaqs when the 13-18 age rage has moved to Reddit for forums. Or gets their gaming info off Twitch, Youtube, or game wiki's.

I fucking hate the "vertical format with blurred sides" trend. It's just obnoxious and pointless.

13-18 range is absolutely not on reddit. They're on tiktok and discord servers. I don't meet anyone on reddit under 23ish unless they're a hardcore STEM dweeb who's there for r/cscareerquestions or an esport subreddit
