I feel ya, about a year ago I had a thrombosed one that burst and didn't stop bleeding for four days. Blood always looks worse in water / on paper than it actually is, but...yeah, I'm not normally the type to change bad habits quickly, but after that you won't catch me spending any more time on the crapper than absolutely necessary.

The ordeal also ended up getting me on a daily routine of metamucil, which has done wonders for clearing up my bad bowel habits.

that's my fuckin nightmare right there, tbh i already wanna go check if it's stopped or not >_> unless you mean "didnt stop" in terms of re-opening every time you had to go, rather than literally nonstop

I'll spare you any further details, but I do mean literally nonstop (Obviously not a life-threatening amount, but it did slowly bleed for the duration until it finally closed up). I'm certainly not in any position to give any medical advice, but I will say that I had to muster every ounce of willpower I had to not check if it was still bleeding every five minutes, because that just made things worse. After a couple hours, I finally relaxed enough to just let the Depends do their job, and hosed off in the shower every few hours if I felt it was getting too messy.
