I was told my life expectancy was 32 when I was 13. So, getting old is a privilege for me and not sad at all >_>.

Btw. I am on the lucky end of my disease. So, Im 33 and it's not looking to kill me any time soon. But when you plan on something like that taking you out, it's a lot easier to validate doing drugs. So, my 20s definitely took a few years off my life at the very least.

It's funny how perspective works

Topics like this one make me glad my hair isn't going anywhere. I'm 33 and it's just as full and thick as it was when I was a teenager. Losing it really does sound terrifying.

This is how I felt just three years ago.

Finasteride and Minoxidil as other have stated is what will do you best. I started last April and already am I noticing my hair has gotten a bit thicker and I've had some regrowth as well, especially in the front part of my head where it was really almost gone. I still have a ways to go, and my crown has been pretty slow to come back, but I think the numbers are like 90%+ for people to either maintain or see some regrowth while on fin/min.

Also, you can look into a hair transplant down the line, but that's gonna cost you like $10k in the US (like $5k in Turkey/Mexico though), and you'll still have to get on finasteride anyways to maintain your hair.

You could shave it bald and see how it looks on you, and if it's acceptable, then no need to worry about any of this.

This is why I dislike the "shave and grow a beard" blanket advice. Some people just look fucking goofy like that lol

If I can add another insight, given that we are in a gaming website: traction alopecia caused by gaming headsets. Yes, wearing those headsets can stress the scalp and cause thinner hair on top of your head in the long-term use. Which is true because I received for Christmas one of those big Turtle Beach wireless gaming headsets for my Xbox and they might be awesome as a far as the sound goes but the headset is so tight it felt like my top hair was tired of being pulled after an intense gaming session. That definitely cannot be good for the scalp if you are an avid gamer that plays often.

Seriously, Google it.

Oh they have. I've been browsing the hairloss sub r/tressless for close to a decade now and have seen some SERIOUSLY fantastic results from people.

I'm the same as you though, depending on how my hair looks in another 2-3 years I may look into one as well, especially since I don't expect too much regrowth in the front. But damn is it expensive!

I've heard of this, but I'm good on that front since I've never worn gaming headsets in the first place lol

Although hair transplanting is a thing but VERY expensive.

there's nothing wrong with saving your hair, if that's what you choose to do. it does not make you self conscious like people are misguided into thinking. if you have nice hair that you want to keep, why not defend it?

hair loss isnt related to age. once you hit puberty, it's fair game. there are 50 year olds with a full set of hair, and there are 20 year olds who are losing it. if it were age-related, everyone would lose their hair around the same time.

Fun fact, Samuel L. Jackson got into acting due to his love of wigs and dressing up from an early age. Dudes as badass as always whether hes got a wig on his noggin or hes as bald as a newborn baby, just sayin.

If someone has the head shape for it, sure. Some people though? They really should do everything they can to prevent it.

Well, now.
For a very long time, I grew my hair out and gave it to charity, on regular intervals

Even going bald, I can still do a full Bob Ross 'fro. May make it out to sixty before it becomes Larry Fine.
