My wife has constantly been applying for jobs and she's getting nowhere. She applies and 2 hours later she gets an email that she's disqualified from the position. I don't understand, I thought there was no workers and so many jobs.

I mean... is she applying for realistic positions or is she looking for stuff she doesn't have the experience and qualifications for?

Cause right now its pretty damn easy to find a job in most places.

Also can she afford to take a year to go to school? Care aides are desperately needed basically every where, its an easy course, and you can get a job in a second. Hell you can get 6 jobs and choose the place you want to work for. Or do contract work and stack money.

What type of job is she looking for?

Many people get jobs through their networks. Does she have a network?

You network.

Most places already have someone they know they want who networked for the position but have to do so many interviews anyway as a formality.

Or apply for a job that has higher demand from the employer than people who are applying for it

Also its ridiculously easy to get promoted particulary at lower levels so on a few occasions Ive taken a lower level job. Ive always gotten to the position I wanted with it taking between 3 days and 5 months.

There are warehouse jobs that hire literally anybody like Amazon, Fedex, UPS...etc obviously they aren't the best jobs, but they pay and are better than nothing.

My store just had a hiring event. We'll hire anybody willing to show up on time. Realistically, we're lucky if 1/6 people who interview actually show up and work.

In short, just keep trying. Take a job while looking for another.

What the fuck?!

Walmart said I had thr job provided my background check came back good. They only asked for name and social iirc.

Government wanted name social place of birth mothers name (maiden included) fathers name address etc.

I've been fucked out of two jobs cause of a background check and they didn't make sure they had the right person. Worked out this time though cause I got a better job

She has applied for retail jobs, fast food jobs, and even small jobs like dog kennels.

Shes gotten a few interviews but never any call backs.

No, we can't afford for her to be off for schooling at this point.

I get approached at least once a week by people wanting me to go and work for them. Ive never taken any of them up on it because they are usually worse offers than what I already have, but its reassuring for if I was in a bind.

looking for a better job while you already have one seems like a challenge these days.

i've been involved in a few processes that i thought were going somewhere but ultimately didn't land. i went as far as having interviews with the managers tho and i thought they were impressed but apparently, they didn't go through for some reason...

This.

Also dont fucking suggest Indeed. Place is crawling with scams nowadays.

LinkedIn is way better at filtering those out, but you still need to watch for any offers that claim to want to talk on Google Hangouts or RingCentral or some shit.
