This post just made me realize the Mario movie will absolutely have a bottomless pit joke

Mario will jump into one and keep falling, falling, falling seemingly forever... until he eventually lands perfectly safe

Came in here, thought pretty hard about it, and voted for Bowser. Was honestly surprised to find him blowing out the competition.

My thought process: the first three are certainly evil enough, but they all proved themselves to be ultimately incompetent due to a shared crippling weakness: their enormous egos. The next three are basically joke options. Mario and Frodo are too good to be trusted to perform well as evil overlords. Even if we assume they are mind controlled by the One Ring, I cant get over the fear that their true nature will somehow reassert itself at the worst possible moment. Saruman is just discount Sauron, kinda sad really.

This leaves Bowser. Hes not as straightforwardly evil as some other options, but hes hardly some paragon of good either. And I know what youre thinking, he always gets beat by Mario. Well, unlike the other villains here, Bowser has never been defeated for good. He Always Comes Back. And lets be honest, his personality is a refreshing change of pace from your cliche overlord. Bowser is the change Mordor deserves.
